The only proper way to celebrate the flavor of a delicious wine is to pair it with the curated flavors of a gourmet meal.
Join us while we take a look at this gorgeous and appetizing high-end celebration dinner!
Table & Thyme is honored to have been selected to cater such a fine and extravagant evening in partnership with the Tum Tum Tree Foundation. This organization is built on the unique goal of raising money for children's hospitals across the state of Alabama through wine auctions. Thankfully, this leads to incredible nights of exquisite company and an unmatched dining experience whilst also lending a charitable hand to those in need. This year, we were selected to cater for their Vintner dinner in celebration of the wine merchants that provide spectacular selections of wine for the auctions. The event was beautiful, so much so that we are compelled to share some of the highlights of the evening!
Sporting some of our holiday menu items, this event’s menu is a special moment that is sure to inspire any looking to host a winter event this year! Of course, before we explore each of the gourmet courses served at this event, we must share the beautiful tablesetting that accompanied the meal. Fine silverware and tablecloths lined the tables, with elegant menus placed at each seat. A bouquet of earthy winter flowers created an atmosphere of grace with a hint of winter’s seasonal touch.
The First Course: Inviting Hors D’oeuvres
Prior to the main entrées of the extravagant meal, guests were served a number of tasty appetizers to welcome in the dishes to come. This included tortellini skewers, made from creamy cheese filled tortellini paired with fresh garden heirloom tomatoes and marinated mozzarella balls, tossed in a house-made herb vinaigrette. Guests also savored a unique variation of crab cakes made half with lump crabmeat and half slow roasted chicken thigh meat made into the traditional crab cake style. This delicious morsel was drizzled with homemade Alabama white sauce and garnished with fresh parsley for a zesty dish.
The Second Course: Entrancing Entrées
Guests were given the choice of two equally appetizing entrées for the second course of their meal. The first option was pistachio and thyme encrusted pork tenderloin, roasted to perfection, and served on sweet buns made from scratch. The other choice guests could pick from was savory braised beef short ribs, topped with an incredible tarragon and red wine reduction and placed on a bed of maple, thyme, and mashed sweet potatoes.
The Third Course: Decadent Dessert
To top off the evening’s festivities and flavors, guests were offered the creamy richness of moist and sweet baked bread pudding. A beloved and timeless dessert offering off of Table & Thyme’s event menu, our bread pudding with cream icing, was the perfect way to finish the evening.
