The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing, and spring is finally here!
When life gives you lemons, use them to make this sweet, creamy, and tangy lemonade, perfect for enjoying the spring season.
There are not many things in life that can refresh the soul like sipping on a glass of chilled lemonade on a sunny day can. As the seasons begin to change, the air here in Alabama is becoming warmer as we welcome the comforting sounds of spring.
While rain has been filling the weekly weather forecast lately, there is always something to look forward to around this time of year. As they say, April showers bring May flowers, so in only a few short weeks we will have a bounty of beautiful gardens to see! But in the meantime, how can we celebrate the season and refresh our spirits after a cold Alabama winter?
This week we are sharing a delicious drink that caught our attention after it began trending on Tik Tok. Viral Tik Tok recipes are a fun way to discover and try new things which is why we love testing our hand at some of the recipes that show up on our own For You Page. In the past, we have made Baked Feta Pasta and even some homemade Focaccia Bread, and this week we are sharing our experience making Creamy Lemonade!
Creamy Lemonade is a great way to add some elegant flair to traditional lemonade which is why it was a perfect match for Table & Thyme! This Brazilian Lemonade recipe wound up trending on Tik Tok under the #creamylemonade hashtag, accumulating over 27.5 million views!
It was certainly enough to convince us to try it, and thankfully so, because it ended up being quite a tasty and tangy treat! Because we love any opportunity to enhance a recipe for an elevated experience, this recipe was guaranteed to make it onto our blog!
How to Make Creamy Lemonade
Just like traditional lemonade, creamy lemonade is very simple to make, requiring only a few key ingredients. Some fresh lemons, heavy cream, sugar, and water are all you need to make this delicious drink, so what are you waiting for? Add them to your grocery list so you can be sipping on this sweet treat, too!
To get started, begin by preparing the lemons. Cut each one in half and then cut each half of the lemon into quarters.
They will be blended, so the pieces do not need to be exact or perfect, but making them more manageable for your blender will help you get a smoother end result.
You can remove the seeds if you’d like, but it is entirely based on your personal preference. Since they will be blended and eventually filtered, there is no explicit need to remove the seeds.
Once your lemons are ready, place them into a blender, along with the sugar and water, and blend until it reaches the consistency of a smooth lemony puree.
Strain the puree to remove as much pulp as possible by pouring it through a sieve and into a measuring cup. Once you’ve filtered out as much lemon pulp as you can, rinse the blender and set it aside because you will be using it once more for this recipe.
Combine the newly filtered lemonade with the heavy cream and blend once again. This time it should only take about 25 seconds to combine the liquids evenly, and then you are ready to enjoy your lemonade!
Pour over a glass of ice or let it chill in the fridge to get the smoothest and most refreshing drink for sipping this spring!
