Starting off the day by sitting in a long line of cars, anxiously watching the clock as the minutes tick by is a great way to pave the way for a stressful day. It’s important to establish relaxing and constructive routines to support your brain and body throughout your day, and that starts the moment you wake up. For a lot of people, having time to center themselves while sipping a delectable cup of coffee is the perfect way to prepare for the day ahead.

We have created a list of 6 barista-approved coffee recipes to make at home, including how to get the perfect frothy cream to top off your homemade cup o’ Joe. Take a look and soon you’ll be saving yourself time and money while enjoying a relaxing and energizing morning at home.
Whether you like it hot or iced, sweetened or bold, it is easy to make delicious coffee drinks in the comfort of your home. It may be helpful to get your hands on a few handy tools depending on the type of coffee drinks you prefer if you don’t have them already. For example, if you are a fan of cold-brewed coffee, a french press is a must-have kitchen essential. Or, if you love sweet and creamy coffee, a milk frothing wand works magic! You don’t need an espresso machine with any of these recipes, but if you find yourself missing that style of drink, a trusty mini espresso machine may be a good investment for your home. We have shared a guide with more general tips for making quality coffee at home, so if you’re interested in becoming a certified self-taught barista, take a look at our Energize Your Mornings with Gourmet Coffee at Home article.
Depending on how you take your coffee, adding a smooth foam can take your drink to the next level of deliciousness.
*Any milk, dairy or not, will work, but some will do better than others. A good rule of thumb to remember is that milk with a lower fat content will foam better for hot drinks, and milk with a higher fat content will foam better for cold drinks.
*Cold brew can be made easily using a french press coffee maker. Simply stick to a coffee-to-water ratio of 2:1 (similar to most coffee). Opt for coarsely ground coffee beans and fill the french press with cold, filtered water before letting it brew. Bold and full-bodied cold brew can take up to 24 hours to brew at room temperature, but placing it in the fridge can speed up brew time significantly. If you place to refrigerate your cold brew, shoot for at least 10-12 hours.
When it comes to making quality coffee drinks at home, starting out with quality beans is a must. Table & Thyme offers gourmet coffee beans with notes of almond and cocoa via our Mesa House Blend for the perfect cup every time.
