After seeing videos like those time and time again, we couldn’t resist giving it a try ourselves! We are so excited to share our experience making focaccia bread with you here on our blog, but if you’d like to be one of the first to see it on Tik Tok, give us a follow @tableandthyme.co or by visiting our Tik Tok here! Meanwhile, let’s explore how we made some delicious rosemary and grape focaccia!
When it comes to making some great focaccia, it’s pretty hard to go wrong, even for a beginning. The best way to make it have an outstanding flavor is to experiment with the toppings until you have exactly what you’re looking for! That’s because the main component of the bread, the dough or crust, doesn’t change much from recipe to recipe. Really, it’s the toppings that are going to make or break your bread!
For our focaccia, we opted for an earthy and sweet combination that would still highlight the flavor of the dough the most. Rosemary and grape are a perfectly matched duo with a mild flavor and it also looked and smelled even more incredible than we could’ve ever anticipated!
And, we figured out a way to make focaccia even easier! Yup, there’s lifehacks in bread-making! Opting for pre-made pizza dough is a great way to make stress-free focaccia that still tastes and looks just as good as homemade, and here’s the proof! Aside from the toppings all you need is some olive oil and you’re all set to get your focaccia cooking!
Once you’ve got your oven preheated to the appropriate temperature (we went with 375°F), begin prepping your bread by greasing a baking pan and spreading your dough in a stretch, thin layer. Flip the sheet of dough to coat the opposite side, then get ready for the fun! From here, use your fingers to poke dimples all over the dough. You can add as many or as little as you want, but try to be pretty generous. This allows for the consistency of the bread to be fluffy and airy while still having full bodied flavor after baking!
Place your grapes into some of the dimples and gently press them down to ensure they won’t be slipping and sliding as you move and transport your focaccia from place to place.
With some fabulous flair, sprinkle fresh rosemary springs across the focaccia in an even layer. You want each bite to have a balanced flavor, so try not to skimp on the corners and to have a good ratio of rosemary to grapes.
Finally, sprinkle your bread with a pinch of salt and place it in the oven for 25-30 minutes. You’ll notice the color of the bread shift to a lovely golden brown, but you’ll also be able to smell your creation as it nears the end of its baking time. Once it’s ready, let it cool for a few moments before dishing it out!
Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or gift, this focaccia is as tasty as it is easy to make!
