When it comes to creating unique and unforgettable catering experiences for any kind of event, Table & Thyme is dedicated to getting it right every time. Through endless trial and error and a thorough dedication to detail we have found the perfect formula for a stellar event. When asked to work with Highlands College to put together a lunch to celebrate the renowned staff, we knew exactly what to do. Let’s take a peek at this All-American themed lunch event with Highlands College!
One of our staples for events such as this is creating an elaborate display of deliciousness. We place each item with attention and care to maximize the appeal of our grazing tables and arrangements, which results in some incredibly eye-catching creations. For this event, we wanted a vibrant spread of fresh produce and other finger foods. We included vegetables such as sliced carrot, red bell pepper, and sliced cucumber, as well as tangy fruits like raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and blackberries. We also served an assortment of cheeses including cubes of Colby Jack and Pepper Jack, artisan crackers, quality cured meats, nutty pistachios, sweet baby pickles, and green olives. Guests could also enjoy our creamy homemade pimento cheese dip with black corn tortilla chips or fresh pita, and to satisfy any sweet cravings, our Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies and salted caramel chocolate morsels.
For the soft appetizers at this event, we wanted to emulate the home-cooked feeling of a family barbecue or potluck. What better dishes to gravitate toward than cucumber salad and coleslaw? But, of course, these aren’t just any old salads. Our cucumber salad featured hand-chopped heirloom tomatoes and cucumbers and zesty red onions tossed in a house-made vinaigrette and topped with lemon zest and fresh parsley. Our cozy coleslaw was made with fresh and crunchy shredded cabbage, radish, and carrots in a sweet and creamy dressing to be the perfect side salad for the main dishes.
To make this event feel like a backyard barbecue or good ol’ fashioned summer cook-out in the early spring, we knew the perfect way to pull it off. With these All-American classics, there was no way this lunch could go wrong! This event featured hand-breaded corndogs made with 100% beef dogs dipped in buttery cornmeal batter, crispy chicken tenders with an assortment of dipping sauces including our creamy and flavorful homemade honey mustard, garlic butter potato wedge steak fries, and some classic lunch sliders. These sliders sport savory ground beef patties, a slice of American cheese, a fresh tomato slice, crunchy lettuce, Alabama Ivory burger sauce, and topped with a tangy pickle slice for a little bit of everything good!
