One of our most recent events, a beautiful classically themed wedding reception, was hosted in The Farrell’s private, chic, and elegant hall. We incorporated timeless aesthetics with a touch of Southern charm for a reception menu filled with comfortingly delicious foods.
What better way to appreciate the details of aged delicacies than indulging in artisanal appetizers?
At this reception, we lined the tables with baskets of rustic sliced bread made from scratch with a starter over 70 years old. And fresh rosemary focaccia bread, too. Bowls of whipped butter and seasoned olive oil for dipping partnered these starters, but they were not the only items for guests to snack on before supper.
We also served our signature cornbread muffins, made with sweet honey and thyme and conveniently bite-sized. Finally, guests enjoyed a homemade southwestern-inspired trail mix.
A show-stopping entree is a large part of what makes an excellent event menu. But pairing that entree with a selection of gourmet sides is what turns a catered event into a catered experience.
For this event, we served green bean bundles with a crispy, savory finish. These bacon-wrapped green beans were a crowd favorite, likely because of their uniquely crafted sweet tea glaze.
The buffet also featured oven-roasted vegetables, including carrots, wax beans, butternut squash, and more. After roasting, we added a drizzle of tangy balsamic glaze to enhance all the earthy flavors.
Southern baked mac and cheese, made with three kinds of cheese and baked into golden goodness, and creamy homemade mashed potatoes completed the list of sides for this classic wedding reception’s menu.
In addition to the exceptional sides, this wedding reception buffet featured a selection of incredible entrees to choose from, too.
One of these was tender hanger steak, marinated and grilled with blistered tomatoes and onions.
Another hearty choice, guests stacked their plates with slices of pepper jelly pork tenderloin. It was expertly prepared to add a sweet and spicy element to the menu while preserving the savory, juicy pork flavor.
The final dish on the buffet line was creamy Tuscan chicken paired with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach.
