Have you ever heard the saying, “find a job you enjoy, and you will never have to work a day in your life?” Well, we’re here to tell you that it’s true. Here’s how we marked making it to our third year of providing elevated catering experiences:
Before we jump into the birthday festivities, let’s take a look back at where it all began!
Thomas Cox founded Table & Thyme in 2019 with a passion for excellence and enthusiasm to serve. By this time, he had already stepped into his love for creating and sharing delicious meals. After starting Mealfit, a healthy meal delivery alternative to fast food, he was ready to expand his culinary reach even more. His visions included much more than healthy meal-prep menus. In fact, he sought to provide catering services that delivered impeccable menus with unmatched quality and style. And thus, Table & Thyme was born.
It seems like only yesterday we were hosting our first launch party. Time really does fly when you’re having fun!
Over the past three years, Table & Thyme has helped people honor some of life’s biggest milestones and simplest joys with our unique range of catering services. It has been a memorable experience, to say the least, and we can’t wait for all the memories to come!
In the meantime, enjoy this lovely look at our recent anniversary celebration.
When deciding where to host the special event, we couldn’t do it just anywhere. There are tons of wonderful venues in the Greater Birmingham area, many that we’ve worked with in the past, in fact. But, for this particular event, we wanted it to be in a place that spoke more to our mission.
Jones Valley Teaching Farm is an interactive agricultural center nestled in the cross streets of downtown Birmingham. Dedicated to nurturing a love and knowledge of food from farm to table, they even run special youth education programs. At the junction of creative presentation and admiration of food, we knew this was the perfect place to host our 3rd-anniversary celebration.
Speaking of creative presentations, this event featured an artistic tablescape designed by Melinda Musgrove of Tableau Artistry. With fall-inspired foliage and a selection of Modern rustic decor, our afternoon event became a chic occasion.
Over the years, we have tested and crafted a number of insanely good recipes to fit within the various themes and styles of the events we catered. With so many to choose from, it was hard to pick favorites for sharing at our anniversary event! That’s when we decided that food stations, each with special flavor combinations, were the best way to go.
The first table featured two handcrafted appetizers for guests to enjoy. One was a fun take on Caesar salad, served skewer-style with blackened shrimp. On the other side of the table, a tiered display of mini burgers, made with tender beef patties, melted Brie cheese, tangy onion jam, and fresh arugula between toasted Brioche buns, enticed guests with an irresistible aroma. This station also served a selection of champagne, beer, and wine.
The second food station featured even more flavorful variety. Our chefs carved savory smoked lamb right at the table. Additionally, pork belly tacos topped with sweet pickled onions, homemade salsa and guacamole, and fresh lime wedges graced our guests’ full plates. This table also sported a skillet of warmed green chili queso, garnished with cilantro and diced tomatoes, which was paired with assorted chips. Fruity strawberry margaritas in spicy-rimmed glasses added a fun finish to the second food station.
The final food station was a table filled with Table & Thyme’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies. Not only were they a staple that had to be included, but we conveniently packaged them for the ride home. We also offered filtered water to rehydrate after an afternoon of fun.
The past three years have been a tremendously rewarding experience. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with the clients and vendors that made our events so special. Without them, the beloved Table & Thyme team, and a few of our talented friends, this event could not have turned out nearly as magical as it did.
Don’t forget to take a look at the vendors that made this event possible. And be sure to check in with Table & Thyme every week on our blog, Pinterest, and Instagram, and follow us on our journey in the years to come.
